I live in the best city in the entire world, New York City. It’s just a fact, plain and simple. I’m privileged to be among the smartest, most forward thinking and classiest people. I’ve been told by family members I live in a “bubble.” I like to think of it as a sphere of great minds thinking alike. Here are the five best points we’ve made and repeated in the New York Times, Twitter or even Medium that deserve further repeating.
Ronald Reagan’s War on Drugs destroyed the vices of others, but he was addicted to jelly beans, a substance as damaging as cocaine. Remember when you’d snort a line anywhere you’d go before 1981? I don’t because I was born in 1990. Reagan ruined it all. Instead we can freely pop jelly beans made of horses and beetle dung. His legacy ruined drug use for vegans.
Flint, Michigan doesn’t have clean water because the swing state chose Trump. Sorry, Flint, karma is a bitch. Even though this problem has been around since 2014, we’re mad your state chose Trump! There must be something in the water to be that stupid. Cheers!
Hillary’s campaign slogan “I’m With Her” was (and still is!) synonymous with all women unless you’re Monica Lewinsky because then you can’t sit with us! Instead of going over ancient Herstory lets talk about how Harvey Weinstein intimidated young female employees. Harassment is Hollywood, not the White House.
Legendary actor Robert De Niro was brave for shouting “Fuck Trump” at the Tony’s. He’s the King of Tribeca, a Goodfella in his own right and more importantly an advocate for us little guys. The general public is not brave enough to speak the truth. We need celebrities to show us how to shout our unique truths into the ether.
We should be calling our congressmen more than we call our families. If you want cash, call your parents. If you want change, call your congressmen. Your family can provide emotional support, but its dangerous to have this sanity. Stay angry and unstable, call your congressmen.
